Quran Journey

Overview

Quran Journey (Quran Tawaf Journey on Google Play) is a Quran reading app I built and published on both iOS and Android. You read the complete Quran one page at a time, your position is saved automatically, and your progress moves you from Medina toward Makkah and the Kaaba. Bookmarks and private reflections stay on the device, with no ads, accounts or social features. It is built with React, TypeScript and Capacitor, with AI-assisted development in the workflow. The AI is a development tool here, not a feature inside the app.

In the app

1. 01

   Read the Quran

   All 6,236 ayahs across 604 pages, one page at a time, in a clean and focused reading view. Your position is saved automatically.

2. 02

   Set a daily goal

   Choose 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 pages a day. An optional Ramadan Journey spreads the reading across 29 or 30 days from your actual progress.

3. 03

   Follow the journey

   Overall progress moves from Medina toward Makkah and the Kaaba. Completing the Quran closes a journey with a visual Tawaf, and a new one can begin.

4. 04

   Bookmark and reflect

   Save ayahs to return to, and write personal reflections. Progress, bookmarks and reflections are stored on the device.

Building and releasing it

1. 01

   One codebase, two stores

   A React and TypeScript app packaged for iOS and Android with Capacitor, so the same product ships on the App Store and Google Play.

2. 02

   Android release

   The Android build, release signing, testing and the Google Play submission were done as part of the project, alongside the existing App Store release.

3. 03

   AI-assisted development

   AI tools were used to speed up development. Every change is still reviewed, tested and shipped by me. The app itself has no AI feature.
